Family sessions with Katie Maye Photography are all about real connection, natural moments, and letting your family be exactly who they are right now. The giggles, the chaos, the quiet snuggles, the way your kids fit perfectly in your arms even when they swear they are not little anymore.
I am a family photographer based in Embree, Newfoundland, serving families across Central Newfoundland and surrounding areas. My approach is relaxed and child led, with gentle guidance so nothing ever feels stiff or forced. You do not need to worry about perfect smiles or everyone looking at the camera at the same time. Some of the best images come from the in between moments.
What to Expect
From the moment you arrive, my goal is to make everyone feel comfortable. I take time to connect with your kids, let them warm up, and follow their lead. We might play, walk, cuddle, or just hang out together. I will guide you when needed but I also step back and let real moments unfold naturally.
If your child needs a break, that is okay. If someone is shy, that is okay too. I photograph families exactly as they are, not how they think they should be.

My family photography style is natural, soft, and timeless with a focus on emotion and connection. I love movement, laughter, tiny hands holding yours, and the way families interact when they forget the camera is there.
I photograph a mix of lightly posed images and candid moments so you get a full gallery that truly reflects your family. Whether we are outdoors in beautiful Central Newfoundland scenery or in studio, the focus is always on genuine connection.
